Mazda Australia is proud to announce its first-ever Mazda CX-30 SUV has taken the 2021 Wheels Car of the Year.

This is the ninth time Mazda has taken this prestigious motoring award, which has been a hallmark of a world monitoring journalism for over 54 years.

Competing in a highly concentrated field of 10 impressive new model releases, the Mazda CX-30's combination of style, specification, safety, efficiency and value was irresistible to the Wheels Car of the Year judging panel.

Mazda is honoured to accept the coveted Wheels Car of the Year award in 2021.

The first-ever Mazda CX-30 was a highlight of Mazda's centenary year, representing how the brand has evolved while pointing to an exciting new era.

"Against incredibly accomplished competition, CX-30 is proof that our new generation vehicle architecture, shared with Mazda3 and the upcoming MX-30, is a standard setter," he said

Wheels editor, Dylan Campbell, said:

"The CX-30 is such a delightful car and performed strongly against all our criteria. It's well engineered, thoughtfully designed and with a luxuriously appointed interior for the price.

"The CX-30 is a car you would always look forward to driving," he said.
